What This Tool Actually Does
Choose a formal letter, an informal letter or a short essay, enter the recipient or topic, and list your points one per line. The tool then wraps your points in the conventional structure: today's date, the recipient block, a subject line, a salutation, your numbered points and a closing for letters, or an introduction, main points and conclusion for an essay.
It is important to be clear that no content is generated. There is no language model and no external service, so the sentences in the output are the ones you typed. What the tool provides is the scaffolding and the correct ordering, which is the part people most often get wrong.
How to Use It
- Choose formal letter, informal letter or short essay.
- Enter the recipient and subject for a letter, or the topic for an essay.
- Write your points one per line, in the order you want them to appear.
- Click Generate and copy the formatted text.
- Replace the placeholder name at the end and adjust the wording to suit you.
The Structure of a Formal Letter
- The date, so the letter can be referenced later.
- The recipient's name, designation and address.
- A specific subject line that says what the letter is about.
- A salutation; the tool uses "Dear Sir/Madam", which you should replace with a name where you know it.
- The body, one clear point at a time.
- A closing and your name.
Writing Good Points
Because the output is only as good as the points you enter, write each one as a complete, specific sentence rather than a keyword. "Requesting leave from 3 to 7 September for a family commitment" produces a usable letter; "leave" does not.
For a formal letter, state your request in the first point, give the reason in the second, and note any attachment or action needed in the last. For an essay, the first line becomes the introduction and the last becomes the conclusion, so put your framing and your closing thought in those positions.
Limitations
- The formal and informal options currently produce the same structure, so an informal letter will need its salutation and closing softened by hand.
- The essay format uses up to three middle points, so a longer piece will need expanding yourself.
- The signature is a placeholder that you must replace.
- Output is plain text only, with no PDF or Word download.
