What This Tool Actually Does
This is a synonym substitution tool. It scans your text for words that appear in a built-in dictionary of alternatives and swaps some of them for a synonym, keeping the original capitalisation. It also replaces a set of common wordy phrases with shorter equivalents, turning "in order to" into "to", for example.
It is deliberately described as a synonym rewriter rather than an AI paraphraser, because that is what it is. There is no language model, no external service, and no understanding of your meaning. Sentence structure, clause order and grammar are left exactly as you wrote them.
Why Output Changes Every Time
Each eligible word has roughly a even chance of being replaced, and where several synonyms exist one is picked at random. Running the same text twice will therefore produce two different versions.
That is useful if you want to see a few options, but it also means the tool is not deterministic and cannot be relied on to produce a consistent result.
What It Is Genuinely Useful For
- Breaking out of a repeated word you have used too many times.
- Finding a quick alternative phrasing when you are stuck.
- Trimming filler phrases such as "due to the fact that".
- Generating a rough variant that you then edit properly yourself.
Important Limitations
- A synonym is rarely an exact match. Swapped words can change your meaning or tone in ways the tool cannot detect.
- Technical terms, names and idioms should not be substituted, and the tool has no way of knowing that.
- Because grammar is untouched, a replacement can produce an ungrammatical sentence.
- This will not rewrite text to avoid plagiarism. Reusing someone else's work with words swapped is still their work, and both academic and publishing standards treat it that way.
Always Read the Result
Treat the output as a draft suggestion, never as finished copy. Read every sentence and revert any substitution that changes your meaning or reads awkwardly. For genuine rewriting, there is no substitute for editing the text yourself.
