This page sets pixel dimensions. Three methods: By size (width/height, aspect lock on by default), As percentage (1–200%), Social media presets for Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. Export JPG, PNG, or WebP with an optional quality slider (hidden for PNG). Still client-side canvas; 20 MB; one file. Unlike the compressor, there is no “max width only” field—you name both sides or a percent.
Pixels, not centimetres
4000×3000 scaled to 800 px wide with the lock on becomes 800×600. That is shrink, not crop. Forms that ask 3.5×4.5 cm at 300 DPI need about 413×531 px—type those numbers. If the photo’s shape differs, crop elsewhere rather than unlocking the ratio (that stretches).
Social presets do not crop
A 170×170 profile box will squash a 16:9 photo. Crop to square first, then pick the preset. Upscaling a small image cannot invent detail.

Resize questions
What does lock aspect ratio do?
It keeps the original width-to-height relationship. Change the width and the height follows. Turn it off only if you really want a stretched result — faces and straight lines look wrong immediately.
The form wants 3.5 × 4.5 cm. How do I set that in pixels?
Pick a DPI first. At 300 DPI, 3.5 cm is about 413 px and 4.5 cm is about 531 px. This tool works in pixels, not centimetres, so convert once and enter those numbers with the ratio locked if they match the photo.
Which format should I export?
JPG for photographs. PNG for logos, screenshots and anything with sharp text or transparency. WebP when you want a smaller file than JPG at similar quality, including transparency.
Can I make a small image larger?
You can type a bigger size, but the extra pixels are invented. The result looks soft. Better to start from a larger original if you have one.
Do the social presets crop the photo?
No. They set the output width and height. If the photo’s shape does not match the preset, the picture is stretched to fit. For a cover or story that must be cropped, resize to the long side first and crop in another editor.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Resizing runs in your browser on a canvas. The file stays on your device. Camera metadata is not copied into the new file.
