    What This Tool Does

Combines PDFs: Joins two or more PDF files into a single document, in the order you added them.

Manage the list: Remove an individual file or clear the whole selection before merging.

One download: Returns a single merged PDF.

    How to Merge PDF Files

    1. Select or drag in the PDFs you want to combine; you need at least two.
    2. Check the list, since files are merged in the order shown.
    3. Remove anything you added by mistake.
    4. Click merge and download the combined PDF.

    Limits

    • Between 2 and 20 files in one merge.
    • Each source PDF may contain up to 300 pages.
    • Requests are rate limited to ten per minute from the same address.
    • Only PDF files can be merged; convert other formats first.

    Getting the Order Right

Pages are appended in the order the files appear in the list, which follows the order you selected them. If you need a specific sequence, the reliable approach is to add the files one at a time in that sequence, or to name them with a numeric prefix and select them together.

There is no drag-to-reorder step, so it is worth checking the list before merging rather than after.

    Common Use Cases

    • Combining scanned pages into one document before submitting it.
    • Assembling a certificate, ID proof and application into a single upload.
    • Joining chapters or sections into one file for printing.
    • Putting invoices or receipts together for a claim.

    Limitations

A password-protected PDF cannot be merged. Remove the password first, then merge. A corrupted file will also be rejected with an explanatory message rather than silently producing a damaged result.

Merging rebuilds each page into a new document. Ordinary text and graphics come through faithfully, but interactive elements such as form fields, some annotations, bookmarks and embedded scripts may not survive the process.

    Privacy and Processing

Merging is done on our server, so your files are uploaded. They are used only to build the merged document, the download is removed after it is sent, and temporary files are cleared automatically.

    Merge PDF Files FAQ

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

Between 2 and 20 files in a single merge, and each source PDF may contain up to 300 pages.

How do I control the page order?

Files are merged in the order they appear in the list, which follows the order you selected them. There is no drag-to-reorder step, so add the files one at a time in the sequence you want, or prefix their names with numbers and select them together.

    Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

No. A protected file cannot be read for merging. Remove the password first with our lock and unlock tool, then merge the unprotected copy.

Will form fields and bookmarks survive the merge?

Ordinary text and graphics come through faithfully, but merging rebuilds each page into a new document, so interactive elements such as form fields, some annotations, bookmarks and embedded scripts may not be preserved.

Can I merge Word files or images?

Not directly. Only PDF files can be merged. Convert other formats to PDF first; our image to PDF tool handles pictures.

    Are my files uploaded?

Yes. Merging is done on our server, so your files are uploaded. They are used only to build the merged document, the download is removed after it is sent, and temporary files are cleared automatically.
